Hi I guys, does anyone run there console through a gaming monitor or do you all use tv's. I am asking as I am replacing the tv that I had connected to my PC and console. I have read various reviews that say a dedicated gaming monitor is better for the current gen consoles if it going to be connected to PC as well

10 year old 40" TV here for my PC and consoles. I think the real downside of TVs is the response time isn't as good as monitors. Most 1080p TVs are usually fine but there seems to be a bit more delay introduced on 4K TVs.

That'll come better as the format matures, and with the new HDMI 2.1 standard we'll see in the next 18 months things will look much better (120Hz refresh rates and variable refresh rates will be great for gaming to avoid tearing and such)

You do seem to pay quite a steep premium for decent monitors though, especially if you want high refresh rates and gsync, but monitors are probably the best option if you're wanting to have a smaller screen on a desk setup or something.
