If you haven't heard Netflix have got rid of the star ratings and brought in a new thumbs up/down ratings system as well as a "match service" which gives you a percentage rating if the show matches your likings (at least that's what I've made of it thus far).

I wouldn't say it pisses me off per se but its really made it hard to tell what's the stuff to avoid and the stuff that should become part of your list to watch over and over again.

The "match" system gives me some really crappy stuff, I mean come on is this a bloody dating service or a place I can watch movies and shows without forking out a shedload for dvds/blu-rays?! |_() |_()

BRING BACK THE STAR SYSTEM PLEASE NETFLIX!!

Can't say I pay much attention to the recommendations. I did rate a lot of things I watched on the old 5 star system and did a few likes and dislikes to see what came up. Just seems like everything is either 80% recommended or there's nothing there (*actually, all the Netflix Originals are 98% ).

I'm sure it's the sort of thing that'll improve the more you use it, but I don't see why we can't still see a global rating system as well as a recommendation system.

I tend to stick with Vodzilla (Link) to see what's new on Netflix and add it to my list. That's an issue in itself when it just jumbles the list in a totally random order every time you use it, making it a pain in the arse to find anything again

The old one was a con as well. As I understood it, it wasn't based on real votes, but some sort of system that decided what you might think of it.

I've seen films and shows I absolutely love given 1 star on the old system. I don't pay attention.

I've changed my mind. This is absolute bullshit.

I think the old rating system gave an indication of what might be good, supposedly based on 5 star reviews others had left, while the recommendation system back then was just bollocks.

Now, the recommendations it seems are presented in such a nonsensical way, deliberately hiding ratings to push certain things to the top, like their original content of maybe even paid promotion type deals. All I know is that some Amy Schumer shit is like 98% recommended, while things I've given 5 stars to are in the 50%'s :-x

I use them myself but lately I've noticed they only seem to follow the mainstream stuff coming to netflix and amazon so a few things occasionally sneak past them.

It definitely seems to rate the Netflix Originals higher than anything else

Mind you don't get fooled into watching something that will leave you in extreme disappointment
