Well I had lots of fun meeting up with everyone and that was actually the best part of the day. As for the games I was rather underwhelmed. The were far too many screens dedicated to games that have already been released and not enough for those games coming in the future.

The only things that caught my eye were Split Second and the PSP GO, which seeing one in the flesh has made me want to pick one up.

What were the highlights for you guys and what did you think let the event down if any?

Favourite part of the day was seeing Lee do a star jump to get his picture taken with 2 hotties :-D

Agree, FGUK meet up was the winning factor. Cool to meet up with everyone, it really made the trip up worth it.

Now, the games...

Best Bits.

Split/Second - I don't think anyone was not impressed with this. The only game I played twice. Definitely a day one purchase for me.

Left 4 Dead 2 - Had to wait ages to get a go and then my team was a bit crap at communicating (but the setup hardly foster a team atmosphere to be fair), so we lost two rounds very fast. Got to try the Charger and Jockey, both very fun to play. I liked the new Climax though, rather than camping out, you have to me more active with getting objects and doing tasks. Also, Terminator 2 style grenade launcher was cool.

Bayonetta - Was not really expecting much from this but I really liked it. Its just insanely crazy.

Rock Band - Hammering out the tunes with Ladyboy Gaga on vocals and me on the bass in front of thousands of adoring fans.

Worst Bits.

Saw - Why did you get me to play this Lee, urghhhh.

Dark Void - Didn't even get to try the jet pack, game is broken.

God of War 3 - Was not bad, just a whole lot worse than I was expecting, I would much rather get Bayonetta. I think it was the Harpies that put me off the most, stupid gameplay mechanic.

Not much free shit.

Hmmm? I couldn't get time off work to go to the Leeds one as it was right in the middle of half term. The London one was just too far for me to justify. The biggest draw for me was to meet people too.

I kicked myself for not getting a ticket.

I rode past on my motorbike on way back from work, saw a cliché greasy fat emo and was tempted to run him over for his ticket :/

Was it packed out?

Best:

Bayonetta - Eclipsed the other hack&slashers at the show.

Bad Company 2 - looked great but will get eclipsed by MW2 whenever it comes out.

Meeting everybody - Would have got bored and buggered in an hour if it wasn't for that [plays theme tune to Titanic]

Worst:

GoW 3 - Will I really be missing out if I finish GoW 2 instead of buying this

Dragon Age - Graphics were dodgy, does the AI control 3/4 of your party. Its Bioware

Assassins Creed 2 - The crowd was so thick for this game I couldn't get a clear view. Damn lanky gamers.

Dev Talks - Waiting room smelled of arse and oddly enough burning clutch and was full 1/2 hour before starting.

Neutral:

Daz said I had lovely soft hands unfortutuantly I had to leave so was unable to pursue the matter.

Meeting up with everyone (even the Greasers!) was the highlight of the day for me.

Best:

Aliens vs. Predator - I managed to get a good round on this 1st thing before the place got packed and was impressed, needs a bit of polish but def on my to get list.

Bayonetta - I played the PS3 demo the night before and was impressed by that, and it was good to see the 360 demo was different. Loads of slightly pervy hacky-slashy goodness to be had with this one!

Split Second - Looks and plays fantastic but as others had mentioned on the day, may get old very quick.

Borderlands - I know the game has been released already but it is a game me and the other Team Bromance knob heads have been looking forward to getting and going through on co-op, so it was great to give it a go. really impressed with the look/feel of the game.

Worst:

Having 10 screens set up with Batman: Arkham Asylum! Now it is an awesome game but most people have bought it, completed it and traded it in already!! Same goes for the 10 or more screens set up for ODST.

Was surprised of no Modern Warfare 2, also I was looking forward to giving DJ Hero a go but it to was a no show.

Overall though I had a really good day meeting up with you scumbags! :-D

I think you were playing a different game. That was (other than Saw) the worst piece of shit at the show.

Best bit was, quite unbelievably, meeting up with some of the finest folks around. Lee, Sarge, Daz, Joolsman, Granite, Tovraa, Stuie, Tea, Eden and even a quick catch up with Jonny Maximo - a veritable A-list of people you would want to hang out with. And Tea even got me a brew as promised - what a man.

The Good: Bayonetta, Split Second and L4D2 looked good, as did AVP. Enjoyed playing Borderlands as well.
The Bad: Rogue Warrior (fucking terrible) SAW (obviously) Dante's Inferno (Babies with knives and giant fat naked women things, just couldn't get on with it. I'll stick with GOW3 thanks.
The comedy value: Seeing a guy playing Saboteur getting used to the buttons and accidentaly grabbing hold of a french village women and headbutting her to the ground.

There where way to many games which have already been released and in some cases over a month ago - Wet, Batman and ODST probably being the worst offenders. Also the Indie section was disappointing. And a sad lack of booth babes. And swag.
