In 2017 I finally managed a 25 minute 5k. This year I have entered three 10k races, one in feb, one in March and Kew Gardens in September. This year I am going big with a 30 miler and a 75 miler

Yikes! I'm looking to maybe hit around 75 miles in a month if I'm lucky!

It comes with time, if I was lucky in the beginning I could do about 25 miles a month and have gradually built it up from there some months do hardly any, my total for December was 149.3 miles, the most I have ever done and am suffering for it

Doing alright, trying to gradually build up the mileage and pace but I know my limits so not trying to ramp things up too quickly. Been enjoying doing Parkruns, haven't missed one this year, pushed a little too hard on the last one I almost barfed near the end!

The snow and ice has been a bit of a pain recently so it'll be a lot nicer when I'm not constantly worried about losing my footing.

I do struggle a bit running on consecutive days, I think it's just my natural recovery time to rest a whole day after a run but it'd be nice to be able to run every day. I've noticed my rest days have felt much better though the last couple of months, no real aches and pains, so again I'm a little nervous about running every day if it's gonna encourage troublesome niggles or injury.

very very slowly for me, when I'm not exchanging insults with local cyclists.

keeping up with 3 runs a week, mostly topping out at 3k as the right knee isn't good and I'm concerned upping the distance might impede my ability to walk.

got my paperwork through for the works insurance, but need to get a referral from the GP first, which is a nightmare as the docs will only see you in the case of an emergency/Zombie bite..

pace wise is slowly getting quicker, storing all my times and snapshot pace on a spreadsheet to monitor each run to see if I can spot improvements.

currently the runs are spilt into either a standard 3k, or 3K interval where I walk and recover for 90 seconds.

Main aim was to start losing weight again, which I thought removing fizzy apples in Jan may have helped but nothing has budged, I think previously I was having to 5k 3 times a week to see an improvement so might have to put that plan on ice until I can get a photo taken of me knee.

I'm going to be extremely cautious with this, but my foot is turning a corner.

I've said this so many time, but in the past I've started small runs and I don't think that has helped. Complete rest (including no swimming even) has been frustrating but seems to be doing the trick.

In no way will I be rushing back, but it certainly feels like I will start in the next month or so.

I'm going to run a marathon this year, even if that involves me doing it on my own.

Well done guys for sticking with it. Ben I can see how much you have improved from Strava and my advice it to run every other, that’s what my coach recommends. I only upped to consecutive days after about 8 months and I also tried to run every day in January and it was my brain that gave out. Adam you are doing great as well and your caution with your knee is commendable, managing 3k sounds like a good plan that will pay off for you. Lee I agree with you not rushing back and maybe something a bit less than a marathon might be a less pressure target for you. I know it’s horrible but taking your time to heal your foot is the right option
