I know a lot of people use gaming headsets but I've never thought about picking one up until now. My current situation means I'm living with the in laws until our house is ready to move into. This means I cant have the volume as loud as I would do usually.

I was thinking about the tritton ax pro digital but they're a bit of an extravagance at about £120. I don't mind paying that much if I know they're the dogs but want to make sure before parting with my cash.

Ideally I'd like a pair that aren't just one platform specific so I can use them on the PC too.

Does anyone else use a decent headset or is able to give me some guidance on which to buy??

I personally really like my turtlebeach x11's. They are xbox and pc friendly, and around £30-£40. The sound quality is great for game volume and chat. I turn my tv volume off and just have it running through the headset. If you want a surround sound experience thehut have got some madcatz blops branded for £70. Or at least they did have. Not sure if they still are. I found them too sweaty for my ears and a little uncomfortable.

I use Turtle Beach PX21's. They are wired but work on the 360, ps3 and PC.

They cost me about £60 if I remember. Use them every time I play and can't complain.

Now I've got astro A40 with wireless mixamp, I wouldn't settle for anything less.
If you've got the cash available for a set, and it's absolute quality that you're after, then get the astro's!

So, I waited all weekend to try out my new Tritton ax digital headset and it's shit!

They look good and appear to be a nice build quality on the surface but there's too many wires and the optical cable provided doesn't even fit properly. Wasn't impressed with the audio quality but the 30 seconds of audio I did hear only came when I sat holding the optical cable in!! GRRRR!!!

Needless to say they're going back tomorrow!!

My X41's landed and they are pretty sweet, used them on BF3 --@ .

Used Gam.co https://gam.co/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force-X41-Wireless-Headset-for-Xbox-361-p5759916 never heard of them but as i could pay via Pay Pal i wasn't too fussed. Have to say they were very good, well packaged and reasonable delivery time. They dont appear to work of a weekend though.
