I'm running a GTX 770 Windforce at the moment.

I've been very generously offered a GTX 980.

I only want to say yes to the GTX 980 if it really is going to make much of a difference. I don't want to waste their time by upgrading if it isn't and they can find a new home for it.

A cursory glance at some comparisons seems to suggest some pros and cons... But this is me and I really haven't a clue.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or better still, some knowledge?

As a general rule of thumb I look for the information at this website http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html?_ga=1.224763545.2076091587.1464431656 and the advice for graphics cards is not to bother upgrading unless it is 3 tiers above your current card. In this case you would probably only see a big upgrade if you had two of those cards installed together.

Hope that helps a little!

I'd try the Smellovision HT3663777336P, it's buttery smooth with optimal visual distribution, a real winner in my book!

Cheers.

Some Twitter folk have told me to go for it.

The combination idea sounds good.... But is it easy? I'm both terrible and terrified of tech :-?

Its the Evga superclocked version, though not as good as the ti its base clock speed is 1266 with a boost clock speed of 1367 which is on a par with the ti.

sli is very easy you just put the card in connect with the connector and change the settings via nvidia control panel to sli enabled. You can only sli two of the same cards so wont be able to sli your 770 with the 980.

You wont be able to sli (have 2 cards running) with your 770 and the 980, you have to have either 2 770s or 2 980s together. Hope that explains a bit better.
