This will be something simple.........

When I have game audio through my speakers, some sounds are missing - usually spoken voice segments. So, to hear any speech, I have to put headphones in.

My speakers are these http://www.harmankardon.co.uk/computer- ... wgodutEBgQ

Any ideas what could be wrong FGUKrs?

Could be a fault with the cable, speakers or some weird setting on the PC...

Try plugging something else like your phone into the speakers using the same lead and play some sound / music through them.

Check the speaker setup on your PC - right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right of your screen and go to playback devices. Select your speakers and click 'configure', choose stereo and then test to see if anything plays.

If it had been set to 5.1 or something that may explain why voice doesn't come through as this comes through the front centre speaker and not the left and right ones.

Cheers Ben.

I did that and changed it to normal stereo from 5:1 and it sorted it.

Will I/should I change it when I stick 5:1 headphones back in?

It may change back when you use headphones but check in that speaker configuration when you plug them in. If it doesn't auto switch it may be easier just leaving it on stereo then there's less faffing about

Cheers! It's made things better already, was a bit of a pain having to wear headphones all the time.
